Blast Off Reader's Theater Summer Rocket
Blast Off Reader's Theater Summer Rocket is a Blast Off into Reading. Parents are you looking for a summer experience that combines the magic of the stage with the power of reading? We invite your young star to join us for Blast Off Reader’s Theater Summer Rocket—a high-energy, "non-threatening" performance program that helps students soar to new heights in literacy and confidence. Students will be engaged in a Dramatic read-aloud, character workshops, and "Space Craft" prop-making.
While the kids are having a blast, they are actually working on critical academic skills to prevent the "summer slide":
Fluency: Repeatedly practicing a script is the #1 way to improve reading speed and rhythm.
Comprehension: To "act out" a character, children must deeply understand the story’s plot and emotions.
Confidence: Students will be performing in a small, supportive group that helps them overcome the fear of public speaking.
Vocabulary: Our scripts introduce new "out of this world" words in a context that makes them easy to remember.

The daily activities will begin in cozy "Flashlight Forts," followed by expressive "Reader’s Theater" performances and high-energy "Literacy Olympics" games that get kids moving. To deepen understanding, students engage in Visualization Painting, bringing pre-drawn scenes from their texts read in each session to life with vibrant color and creativity. Every mission is strategically crafted to build students' reading and comprehension skills in a collaborative, movement-based environment. Whether conquering literacy escape rooms or completing epic scavenger hunts, your child will discover that mastering new vocabulary and critical thinking is an absolute fun adventure.
