Camps are based on the grade the student is currently in. Camps will be filled with SCSD students and Southgate residents attending parocial schools in Southgate first.
Free summer programming is provided this week from 8:00 to 4:00. Check in and breakfast begin at 8:00. North Pointe Camps run from 8:30-1:30 for current GSRP - current 3rd Grade. Davidson Middle School Camps for current 4th Graders - current 8th Graders run from 8:45 - 1:45. In addition, all campers are encouraged to take part in our Exploration Stations immediately after camp until 3:30 each day. This is an extra opportunity where we amplify students' strengths through high interest activities including STEM, art, music, sports, and special visitors. You will be given a choice to sign up for Exploration Station during registration. Pick-up is from 3:30- 4:00.
Before and After Care Latchkey at North Pointe is availble for a small fee and you can indicate this during registration. If you are attending camps at Davidson and wish to attend latchkey, you will be transported by Southgate School bus to and from North Pointe. If you are interested in full day latchkey during the weeks when camp is not in session, registration is available on the district website or contact April Roberts - robertsa1@sgate.k12.mi.us.
Meet Up and Eat Up will provide breakfast and lunch each day. Students can start receiving breakfast at 8:00am.

Play board games, movement games, and cards to learn strategic thinking, logic, and problem solving skills while improving literacy and math skills. Playing games with friends fosters teamwork and grows social skills while having a blast. You will also create your own game.
Dive into the wonders of the sea! Campers will discover amazing ocean animals, explore underwater habitats, and learn fun facts about life beneath the waves. Through stories, crafts, games, and hands-on activities, kids will investigate sharks, dolphins, coral reefs, and more. It’s a splashing good adventure for curious explorers who love the ocean!
Young Engineers Camp is an engaging enrichment experience where your child will learn and apply math, STEM, and science through fun, hands-on, engineering activities. Campers will learn basic coding, robotics, and engineering concepts throughout the week. This camp is offered week 1, 3, and 5. Please choose only 1 week.
At Playdough Camp, imagination is key! Kids will sculpt and create art but the fun doesn’t stop there. Playdough is also a tool to help us read, write, and do math! We will make our own Playdough and play games too. The possibilities are endless! This camp is offered week 4 and 5, please choose 1 week only.

Rise Up! Play, learn, and explore! Campers will dive into sports, Olympic fun, and team challenges while boosting reading, math, and creativity through games, crafts, and stories. Join us for teamwork, excitement, and skills that score big!
Checkmate! Chess camp is the perfect camp to learn this competitive game that you can play for the rest of your life. Whether you are brand new to the game or already have some skills, this is the place to be this summer. Chess is also positively related to mathematical achievement. Campers will get their own chess set to take home with them.
At Under the Sea Adventure Camp, students will dive into hands-on ocean exploration. Campers will investigate marine life, ocean zones, and habitats through fun science experiments, engineering challenges, and creative building projects. They will read about sea animals, write in ocean explorer journals, and create stories or reports about their discoveries. They will solve real-world problems like designing boats that float or planning an aquarium layout. Each day will blend active discovery, teamwork, and imaginative learning as students explore the wonders of the ocean. This camp is offered week 1 and week 4 so please choose only 1 week.
Think Like a Detective Camp invites campers to step into the world of mysteries and clues! Campers will sharpen their observation skills, solve puzzles, crack secret codes, and follow clues to uncover hidden secrets. Through fun challenges, teamwork, and hands-on activities, young detectives will learn how to ask questions, think critically, and piece together evidence just like real investigators. Think Like a Detective Camp is the perfect adventure for curious kids who love solving mysteries and using their brains to crack the case!

Lights, camera, action! Step into the spotlight for a week full of creativity, imagination, and fun. Campers will learn the basics of acting, dancing, stage movement, singing, and teamwork while playing theater games and practicing their performance skills. Throughout the week, students will work together to prepare a short play, and families are invited to a special performance on Friday evening to see their young actors shine on stage! Campers must be able to attend all 5 days of camp. The play this week will be "A Kid's Life"
World Explorers is an interactive summer camp where students travel the globe without leaving school. Each day, students explore new countries and cultures through research, stories, and fun facts while building literacy skills by writing postcards, keeping travel journals, and sharing discoveries. Math comes to life as students use maps to measure distance, compare locations, and explore currency exchange. Engagement stays high through country challenges, games, and passport stamps that make learning feel like a real adventure around the world.
Weather Watchers Camp is the perfect adventure for campers who want to explore the science of weather! Campers will discover how clouds form, why storms happen, and how meteorologists predict the forecast. Through fun experiments, weather tools, and hands-on activities, students will create mini tornadoes, track daily weather, and use tools like real weather scientists. With games, teamwork, and lots of discovery, Weather Watchers Camp turns young learners into junior meteorologists ready to explore the skies!
Step into a world of imagination in this storytelling camp! Campers will create heroic characters, write epic quests and backstories, and bring adventures to life through role-play. Along the way, they’ll track points and stats, explore dice probability, manage in-game currency, and use map coordinates to navigate quests. Students will also design creatures, create fantasy maps, complete an outdoor scavenger “quest,” and finish the week with an exciting live-action adventure!
Grow your confidence by growing your Life and Leadership Skills. This camp will teach boys and girls different life skills and personal developments such as community involvement, finances, public speaking, leadership roles, and personal strengths.
