Classes are based on the grade the student completes in June of this year.
Free summer programming is provided each week from 8:00 to 4:00. Check in and breakfast begin at 8:00 and camps run from 8:30-1:00. In addition, all campers are encouraged to take part in our Exploration Stations from 1:00 PM - 4:00 pm each day. This is a new opportunity where we amplify students' strengths through high interest activities including STEM, art, music, sports, and special visitors. A calendar of activities for Exploration Station will be provided each week.
No camps are being held the week of June 30th.
Full-day latchkey is available during the weeks of June 30th, July 28th, August 4th, August 11th, and August 18th. Registration available on the district website or contact April Roberts - robertsa1@sgate.k12.mi.us.
Meet Up and Eat Up will provide breakfast and lunch each day for students who participate. Students can start receiving breakfast at 8:00am.
This camp is filled with fun activities and characters from the beloved Pixar movie Inside Out. Learn about social and friendship skills as well as coping skills to help us face challenges.
This camp will foster a love of nature in children through hands-on activities, outdoor adventures, and learning about the natural world. They will take nature walks and observe the world around them. Campers will engage in stories and art and craft projects inspired by nature.
Explore the world of art! Use different types of fun materials to create masterpieces or explore something new. Learn about the people who created the art around us!
Have you ever wondered how something worked or how you could make an invention better? Learn about some famous inventors and use your curiosity to see what you can create.
ELL students can come join Mrs. Rroko and Mrs. Ibraj this summer to work on speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in English. Students will be using storytelling, games, cooperative learning and play to immerse themselves in culture and customs. Students will sign up with Mrs. Rroko an Mrs. Ibraj (This is ONLY for students who speak English as their second language.)
Get ready to spark your creativity! Each day will feature exciting activities to inspire creativity, sharpen writing skills, and bring stories to life. Campers will also enjoy fun writing games. Throughout the week, you will turn one of your stories into a book. This camp is offered enrichment each week. Please choose only 1 week.
Let’s unplug and get outside! This camp will include a variety of hands-on activities, including crafting with natural materials, building shelters, or engaging in nature-themed games. Campers learn basic naturalist skills, such as sensory observation, inquiry, and identifying plants and animals. Time for play allows children to explore their creativity and imagination in a natural setting.
Travel back in time and explore the wonders of the world’s greatest ancient civilizations! In this hands-on summer camp, you will discover the geography, art, and culture of Ancient Egypt, Greece/Rome, and Mesoamerican civilizations like the Maya, Aztec, and Inca. Each day, campers will bring history to life through interactive activities, creative art projects, and hands-on STEM challenges inspired by ancient architecture and engineering. From hieroglyphics to mythological stories, this camp is a perfect blend of history, creativity, and discovery. Get ready to unlock the secrets of the past in an exciting, immersive way!

Prerequisite: Take Beginner Lego SPIKE Camp or be part of Southgate Robotics Team
Do you love Robotics and Building and have some experience in Robotics? This is the place to be. We will be using the LEGO SPIKE Prime Robots and software that our Elementary Teams use during competition season. Teamwork and cooperative learning will be emphasized.

Mr. Richendollar is looking for singers, drummers, guitarists, bassists, keyboardists, and percussionists who are interested in forming a district Rock Band. Beginners and advanced rockers are welcome, but a willingness to learn and practice are a must. We will play some cover tunes and compose original songs. We will learn how musicians use math and literacy in their music. This is open to all students that just finished grade 3 - 11th grade. This camp runs for four weeks and attendance is crucial to success. Please sign up for 4 weeks of Rock Band.
