「日本らしさ」って何が日本らしいこと？
The conceptual theme of this course is “Close-up Scenes of Japan.” The main idea is both to complement already existing media portraits of Japan and people in Japan, and to present a side of Japanese culture that has not been widely seen abroad. Unfamiliar as many scenes may be, in many ways they can be considered typical of modern Japanese life. While reviewing materials from Japanese 1 & 2, students should develop their own interpretations as well as share with other classmates their opinions about Japanese culture introduced in this course.
