1. Do Now

Organize the 17 UN Global Goals into 3 main categories: Poverty, Inequality, Environment.

Try to get at least 4 Goals for each category
You don't need to fit all the goals into the categories
Note: There can be more than 1 right answer

2. What are people already doing to meet Global Goals?

Part 1- Elif

What solution did Elif create?

Part 2- Rohit, Philapelphia, and Nigeria

What solution did Robit create?
What solution did young people North Philadelphia create?
What solution did young people in Nigeria create?

Part 3- Bali and Jordan

What did young people in Bali accomplish?
What solution did Muzoon create?

3. Team Lawton- Fall 2018 Challenge Winner

Watch the Video and answer the following questions on your handout:

What problem does the group try to address?
How does their project address the problem?
How could you imagine improving the project?
- What additional things could the project do?
- How could it be easier to use?

4. Closeout: Global Goals Paper Chains

Choose the goal you feel most strongly about.
Brainstorm actions or projects to realize their chosen goal.
On the back of the chain, write their aim for their chosen goal. (e.g.: My aim for Goal 14 is to refuse to drink with a plastic straw.)
Stick all the chains together to create a whole class or school Global Goals paper chain.

Showcase: You can put the classroom chain as a decoration to remind the students what they've chosen.

Ask them to think about some other way they can help achieve those goals after they leave the classroom, when they go home, when they play with their friends.
