Dance and vocal music classes are offered at SFHT Balvihar:

Bharatanatyam:

1. Bharatanatyam is one of India’s oldest and most celebrated classical dance forms, originating in South India. Known for its graceful movements, rhythmic footwork, expressive hand gestures (mudras), and facial expressions, Bharatanatyam beautifully combines dance, music, storytelling, and devotion. Each performance uses movement and expression to bring stories from Hindu traditions and Indian culture to life, creating a powerful connection between the dancer, the music, and the audience. 

Kathak:

• Kathak is one of India’s most renowned classical dance forms, originating in North India. Known for its intricate footwork, graceful spins, rhythmic movements, expressive gestures, and storytelling, Kathak beautifully blends dance, music, rhythm, and emotion. Traditionally performed by storytellers known as Kathakars, the dance brings stories from Indian culture and Hindu traditions to life through movement, facial expressions, and rhythmic patterns. 

Vocal Music:

• Hindustani Vocal Music is a rich tradition of Indian classical music that blends melody, rhythm, expression, and devotion. Students develop vocal techniques while learning the fundamentals of Hindustani classical music, rhythm and melody, along with popular bhajans and performance skills. The classes provide a welcoming environment for both children and adults to build confidence, strengthen their voice, and experience the beauty of Indian music and culture.

Age/Participation Restriction: 

• For Dance & Vocal Music Classes child must be minimum 5 years of age by the beginning of the school year, Based on the evaluation by the teachers.

• Parents are welcome to register for these classes.
