Accounting is strongly recommended for any student planning to pursue a degree in any business related field. Accounting is a fundamental block of all businesses. Having accounting skills can open doors in every industry. This course emphasizes the basic financial accounting statements. Students will be able to read, analyze and interpret financial information to make informed business decisions. This class concludes with an accounting simulation where students will apply knowledge gained to “keep the books” for a small business for one month.

Accounting II

Prerequisite: Accounting I
Accounting II takes the basics learned in Accounting I and adds real life business scenarios. Students will experience financial work dealing with depreciation, uncollectible accounts, as well as calculating earnings per share (EPS). As a project, students have the opportunity to audit and provide feedback to all student organizations on the financial condition of their books.
