Our science courses are inquiry based and conceptually driven. We require our students to learn scientific concepts, to develop scientific thinking, and to apply practical skills. Inquiry in science seeks to emulate how science works in the real world; it involves a systematic process of exploring our natural world. Inquiry is driven by individual passions and curiosity. It is the process by which students are able to answer their own questions. Students will have opportunities to ask questions, make predictions, design and carry-out experiments, and make reasoned conclusions. A major focus of the course will be the collection and interpretation of scientific data; an area that has practical applications in many fields.
Structured notes and the use of models and simulations will be used to help students explore and make sense of scientific concepts and to create a mental framework of our world.
