TECHNOLOGY
Technology guidance is a large part of the library's role at HMS. This can be in the form of tech assistance and/or tech integration.
Students and staff members can request first level assistance from the library for tech issues. Chromebooks that are covered by insurance and issues that we cannot resolve will be forwarded to the tech department.
Teachers seeking to integrate technology in their lessons can meet with the librarian to discuss ways that this can be accomplished.
1:1 Chromebook program
All students at HMS have been issued a Chromebook and a protective case. Students are responsible for bringing their Chromebook into the building on all school days, in the case and fully charged.
If you forget your device or run out of battery power, loaner chargers and Chromebooks are available in the library.
If your computer is not working properly or is damaged, please bring your device to the library for assistance.
Google Workspace for Education
All HMS students have access to Seekonk Public School's Google Workspace for Education. Each student has an assigned password that may not be changed. Once logged in, students can create school-related documents, slide shows, spreadsheets, access Google Classroom, and more!
Some of the benefits of the Google suite of tools are:
The ability to share files with other classmates and teachers.
The ability to work on GSuite files at home and at school -anywhere there is an Internet connection!
HMS students can email other students and staff.
Students who need help with their Google Workspace account can come to the library for assistance.
