2011 Christchurch Earthquake

On February 22, 2011 the Central Business  District of Christchurch New Zealand was devastated by a magnitude 6.3 earthquake. 185 people were killed and scores injured.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed money or resources to the New Zealand earthquake efforts. We  raised over $45,000.  We spent $15,000 of that money on immediate needs supporting children in Christchurch. The remaining $30,000 was combined with Christchurch's Chinese Sister City of Wuhan, and together the funds were enough to purchase a First Response vehicle for the St. John's Ambulance Service in Christchurch.

Christchurch is rising block by block, rebuilding and creating a vibrant new downtown city experience. Many old Heritage buildings have been restored and the efforts are ongoing. A visitor to Christchurch today would enjoy a renewed CBD with plenty of new shopping, dining and sightseeing opportunities.
