Ali, a high school English and Yoga teacher, eats chocolate chips straight from the bag. No shame. Her time is split between children, dogs, students, and chocolate, leaving minimal time to create. This has resulted in a large hole in her belly that is currently being filled by the writing of her students. When she can carve out a moment, Ali writes and creates to communicate the maelstrom swirling in her skull.
Charlie is a brain that thought itself into thinking, then got angry about the things it thunk. She sips mango tea with a single teaspoon of unmixed granular sugar, and the most beautiful thing she’s ever seen is the rose-tinted sky reflected in the glass of downtown Seattle.
Chloe is a filmmaker and loves to paint and create. Art is a great form of self-expression and has taught her a lot about herself and her perspective of the world. It also opens doors and connects people in ways that other things can’t. When she’s not creating she’s either sleeping or thinking about what she can create next. She loves nature and the idea of going off the grid to Swedish alpines or somewhere completely random.
Gian Carlo is a high school senior who loves soccer and all sports. He has many hobbies and really likes to collect hats. He doesn’t have lots of experience when it comes to comics and poetry but he does have lots of creativity.
John is an 18-year-old from Seattle, Washington. He likes to play soccer, golf, and skateboard. In his free time, he spends most of it skateboarding. Spending time outside in the fresh air and being active are some of his favorite things to do. In the classroom, John has always enjoyed writing. Be that an analytical essay, a personal essay, thesis paragraphs, or anything creative, John enjoys writing it. In his Poetry Comics class, he has had the opportunity to create and broaden his range of skills by also working on visual pieces that accompany his writing. While challenging for him, John enjoys this new dimension of creativity that he is now able to express himself with.
Oscar is a 12th grader at SAAS who loves trying to make music, snowboarding, and the outdoors. He is very new to poetry and really enjoys combining images with words because he feels it makes the piece so much more interesting.
Riley is an 18-year-old visual artist and fashion designer; she can commonly be found engaged in something creative whether it’s painting, drawing, sewing, etc. Riley has attended SAAS since 6th grade and tried many different sports and activities throughout her years there. She enjoys having free time and tv shows like Family Guy, Rick and Morty, American Dad, and Bob's Burgers. Riley began dabbling in creative writing through SAAS classes and discovered her interest in it.
Anika is an eighteen-year-old girl with bleach-damaged hair and black-hole eyes. She’s always thought she’d be prettier if she had four arms. She consumes an unnatural amount of blueberries and enjoys driving with the windows down.
Fiona is an eighteen-year-old cat owner and tea drinker. She also happens to attend Seattle Academy and has since sixth grade. Fiona has tried every art offered by Seattle Academy and has decided that visual art and writing are her two passions. In her spare time, Fiona enjoys hiding under blankets with her cats, listening to podcasts, and making hats just from the materials found in her mother’s purse.
Jaden is an 18-year-old soccer player and singer/songwriter. In his free time, Jaden enjoys board games, watching television. and watching his many fish. Jaden decided to take Creative Writing to improve his songwriting skills and experiment with other creative storytelling.

She draws inspiration for her writing from the beauty of the outdoors, her love of performing, and her strong relationship with her family. Her Goldendoodle puppy, Midas, is truly the highlight of her life. In the future, Kaylee hopes to work towards a solution to the climate crisis.

With dancing, acting, and singing experience, he seeks to forge a life in the performing arts. He plans on traveling after finishing school, eager to experience all the richness the world has to offer.
Pearce, an eighteen year old high school senior from Seattle Washington loves rock music. His favorite film is Top Gun, and his favorite show is The Mandolorian. He loves the outdoors and there's not a single moment when it's warm and sunny outside when he’s not beside the lake. When the weather turns cold, don’t look for Pearce at the lake side. Instead, catch him in his car, driving east to go ski in the mountains.
Hannah is eating a yam as she writes this. She enjoys going on long, slow runs around her neighborhood, and uses that time to brainstorm what to write about. She likes tie-dye, dogs, and showering in the dark. She hopes to be an engineer someday.
Nicole is a student and lover of scarves, who frequently fills her room with the chaotic scents of whatever candles she has on hand and then regrets it when she has to air it out afterward. The scarves do not help. She sings, probably annoying her sister, at odd hours of the day, and sneaks around the house and world in increasingly convoluted pathways. This is because there are too many things to do, and shouting into the void may be fun, but not necessarily productive.
Allegra, a high school senior, enjoys the rush of adrenaline one receives from standing on top of a mountain. She loves to get outdoors and explore the world, while tasting and cooking as many new foods as she possibly can. She can almost never be found without a water bottle or sunglasses. Her huge dilemma is figuring out how to increase her height. She hangs on a pull up bar hoping to acquire a few inches. Her inspiration for writing comes from her daily walk from her home to the bus stop.
