The Kanagawa Workshop is a practical learning space for teaching traditional Japanese art techniques through hands-on activities like painting, woodblock printing, and design exercises. Its concept focuses on combining basic instruction with direct practice.
The structure uses simple materials such as wood, paper panels, and lightweight framing systems. The built form is low-rise with an open and flexible layout. Sliding partitions allow spaces to be divided when needed. Natural light and ventilation are key features, with large openings reducing reliance on artificial lighting. Work areas are arranged efficiently to support both group tasks and individual work, making the space functional and easy to use.
