Apparatus
All the different apparatuses are cubes of different sizes, each of which is connected to a lever type system that makes it possible to move in any of the four horizontal Axis at the same time on a single pivot point
Iterations
The fabric used here is linen cut in a radius of 23.5 cm first. The binding material and the proportions of it used here were - revive -400ml water + 1tbsp revive and PoP (Plaster of Paris) in the ratio of 5:5 .
The apparatus for the first model is a 30cm by 30 cm by 30 cm cube. A glass fibre square of 30 cm by 30 cm is used for the material. Every edge of the cube is marked at 2 cm intervals. Two threads are tied from the centre of the adjacent edges to the edges opposite to them of the top square. A 10 cm rope is tied from the intersection of these two ropes to the centre of the glass fibre cloth. Another rope is tied on the top square, parallel to one of the edges and at a distance of 2 cm from that edge. Suspended from this rope are two ropes of length 2.5 cm, these are tied at a distance of 2 cm from their respective edges, these are then tied to the corners of the glass fibre. This creates a parabola between these two points. The centre of the opposite edge of these two points are connected to the edge above by a 10 cm thread (similar to the suspended centre point) . This creates the first object .
We tried a few different variations for the second object. For both the variation the previously marked point is suspended in the same way and the two closest corners to this point are also suspended in the same way.
In the second variation, the original apparatus is used with strings at 5cm and 3 cm from opposite edges, the marked point and the two corner points are suspended in the same way, the only is that the remaining two corners are suspended at the sane point which is at the middle of the centre of the 3 cm thread.
This object is different from the original one as it is a lot more curved from it.
The variation occurred on the opposite side of these two points.
In the first one a similar 35 cm by 35 cm cube is joined on the attached to the opposite side of the marked point side.
A thread parallel to the joint edge is tied at 7 cm from the joint edge.
On this thread are tied the remaining two corners of the glass fibre at a distance of 5 cm from where it is tied.
This object is different from the original in the sense that it is much more flatter compared to it while still having the sand dune shaped beginning.
