Aim/Intent : To make modular units by gravity influence forms and geometry. These froms are to be made from fibre glass mesh and resin mixture to harden it.
Apparatus 1 : The making of the aparatus starts with a cube which gives framework and allows the mesh to be suspended in gravity. The cube is attached to a mechanism which allows it to be moved in 3 axis.
working of the aparatus
Apparatus 2 : The making of the aparatus starts with a 200x200x200mm cube which gives framework and allows the mesh to be suspended in gravity. The cube is attached to an exoskeleton that help the cube suspend in gravity with ropes. cube moves in 3 axis as the ropes are pulled or relaxed from each side.

Experiment 1
A 2D geometry of a conical spearhead shape is drawn out in scale 1:1 scale
Procedure
exact same shape is cut out from a fibre glass mesh and suspended in the cube appartus with following points
1) point of the arrow head and mid point of the opposite arc are suspended at 2 opposite vertexes of the cube
2) other 2 ends are suspended at 220mm away from the midpoint tied vertex
3) 100g resin mixture is made with 3g cobalt as catalyst and 6g of hardener
4) The cube is then tilted to achieve the desired form in gravity
5) The form hardens in 20 mins.
Observation
learning from the form we realize that for 2 units to join a better connecting geometry is required.
Experiment 2
Aim/Intent : To device a better joinery for more ways of repeating module.
Procedure
1)Additional arcs are added to pervious geometery and extended parts are secured with tape for first stage of the casting. The mesh is suspended in similar fashion as the pervious form.
2) point of the arrow head and mid point of the opposite arc are suspended at 2 opposite vertexes of the cube
3) other 2 ends are suspended at 220mm away from the midpoint tied vertex
4) 100g resin mixture is made with 3g cobalt as catalyst and 6g of hardener
5) The cube is then tilted to achieve the desired form in gravity
6) The form hardens in 20 mins.
