Introduction
The process involves the casting of concrete with the help of air cavities using balloons which act as a formwork of minimal surface for casting concrete. This experiment opens up the possibilities for form generation through the idea of subtraction and addition of material that is immiscible and "what's better than an air cavity with concrete ?". How do we generate a new language of porosity through these experiments?. The experiments open up the phenomenological aspects and questions the conventional form making/ practices which generate new forms and experiences. Compacting plain cement concrete into cavities formed by balloon using the outside rigid formwork.
Intent and Concept
Series of experiments were started with the basic intent of casting out things. This process of casting created different phenomenological possibilities with a generation of different forms and surfaces . The later stage worked on with clear associations made with light and how does the process generate a different form an experience which is kinaesthetic as Norberg Schulz defines them in Genius Loci. The idea and concept is not about creating forms with a start to end process but rather the form / or experience is derived out of the process and the idea of light/porosity/buoyancy/solid-void shape .The idea is to separate the space making practices from an industrial process.
