Material - Fibers- Paper and fevicol (experiment 1.1) , Binders - moongh dal (Mrunmai's recipe)
Process
Fibers
Take a sheet of paper used to make paper bags which is 145cms in length and 55cms in breadth.
Cut them into smaller pieces and soak them in water for 3-4 mins.
Grind them in a grinder and spread it for air drying so that it becomes almost like powder.
Take 500gms of the powder and almost the same amount of Fevicol and mix it to form dough like consistency.
Set it well in a mould to gain perfect geometry and remove the mould after 10-15 mins.
Binders
Take 3 cups moong dal and boil it using pressure cooker.
Make a paste out of it.
Add corn starch to it and mix it well.
Add water to the mixture and set it well in a mould.
Layer them one above the other
Observations
Since all the three layer were wet, it took time for drying.

Binders
Take 3 cups fenugreek seeds and boil it using pressure cooker.
Make a paste out of it.
Add corn starch to it and mix it well.
Add water to the mixture and set it well in a mould.
Layer them one above the other when the paper layer dries completely
Observations
Combination of paper and fevicol in almost same proportion formed a rigid solid after 24 hours
Fenugreek seeds when soaked in water becomes sticky and the paste consistency is spreads easily.
3.
Material- Fibres- Paper, Binder- Fenugreek seeds ( dana meethi )
Process
Binders
Take 450-500 gms of fenugreek seed i.e. dana meethi.
Grind it well to make it in powdered form.
Add water in 1:1.5 ratio to make it like paste as an when required.
Fibers
Take a sheet of paper used to make paper bags which is 145cms in length and 55cms in breadth.
Cut them into smaller pieces and soak them in water for 3-4 mins.
Grind them in a grinder and spread it for air drying so that it becomes almost like powder.
Take 500gms of the powder and almost the same amount of fenugreek seeds paste and mix it to form dough like consistency.
Set it well in a mould to gain perfect geometry and remove the mould after 10-15 mins.
Leave it for drying and let it dry completely
Observation
The composite of saw dust and fenugreek seed paste is hard when dried completely but a few cracks is observed on the surface of the sheet.
Fenugreek seeds when soaked in water becomes sticky and the paste consistency is spreads easily.
Using the same process of layering
Decreasing the thickness of each layer and increasing the number of layers and binder layers tried giving it a curved geometry
Observation-
4.
Material- Fiber- newspaper, Binder- Moongh dal
Process
Fibers
Take a newspaper and soak it in water for 3 hrs.
Take a moong dal and boil it using pressure cooker for 15min.
Grind newspaper and moong dal using grinder make smooth paste out of it.
Mix both of them by adding small amount of water into it.
Put the mixture into the mould which is 40cm by 20cm.
Dry it using dryer.
Binder
Boil the moong dal and mix it well using small amount of water.
Apply the mixture on the Dried sheet of paper and dal.
Layer all the 3 sheets.
Mixture of dal and paper pulp.
Applying mixture using spatula.
After applying the mixture.
Dried sheets.
Mixture of dal and water.
Mixture applied on the sheet.
Observation :
After drying the sheets become more thinner.
Then after applying the mixture of dal for layering it become heavier.
5.
Material : Paper pulp and moong dal.
Fibers :
Take a newspaper and soak it in water for 3 hrs.
Take a moong dal and boil it using pressure cooker for 15min.
Grind newspaper and moong dal using grinder make smooth paste out of it.
Mix both of them by adding small amount of water into it.
Put the mixture into the mould which is 40cm by 20cm.
Dry it using dryer.
When it get half dried, mold it.
Again keep drying after moulding it till it get fully dried.
Observation :
When it get fully dry the color become darker.
