The building making course focused on the refinement of structural aspects of the design that was developed in the localization module. This course aims on detailed set of plans and specifications that convey the necessary information for the construction of a building. The intent of these drawings is to have a better understanding of the specifications of materials and their coming together in order to construct the structure.
Moving ahead in this course, an interaction with the market was possible through bill of quantities where a conversation with contractors and traders was established giving a better sense of restrictions at the same time opening up new possibilities toward the material aspects of the building.
By varying the plinth heights, the visual experience of the space is manipulated, resulting in a dynamic and engaging environment. Interestingly, not all practices require external factors to support them. For example, while considering the open space in front of an office, a group of students created boundaries for a game of kabaddi using only their footwear. Despite the lack of physical barriers, the invisible boundaries created by the players' movements and perception of the space through were enough to define the playing area. This demonstrates the impact of vision and perception in the design of spaces.
The design revolved around the idea of stagering heights for the placement and distinction of spaces and formulation of various activities
