Fusion 360 unifies design, engineering and manufacturing on a common platform.
We started with understanding the software and what capabilities it gave us in terms of visualizing the space in a more comprehensive way. Applying the commands that we learnt on the objects of daily life gave us a friendly relation with the interface.
The software allows physical movements which are built using logic and real-life possibilities. It uses physics to work through. This allows for simulation through which we can understand the working of the product in real time.
Using the knowledge of simulation that we gained, we designed a kinetic sculpture that works on the mechanism of gears and the logic of tangents. The metal rods are at a tangent to the wheels which do not move only in a perfectly circular path, taking the metal rod with them creating a wave pattern.
technical drawings can be generated from this software, which give a better understanding for the viewer.
This also allows for the use of virtual environments.
In the same way as in fusion we started with understanding the software by using the commands for building an object.
In this exercise we used node system to build iterations of textures and colours.
Organic / Parametric Form
We played with the geometry of a geodesic dome and formed a parametric form.
Exploring the ways of rendering, This was a start to my final production design. I designed a living room space having a view from a non-human position.
Final production
For the final production design I was looking at how i structure could be seen from a new perspective through understanding the relationship and interaction that the inside and the outside have. Contemporarily we look at the inside of a structure by taking sections which are very much linear and restricted in terms of giving the full idea. But looking at the inside and outside in a non-human way could help us understand what we might be missing out because of restriction put up by the mass itself.
