Quickly check to see if a website will be blocked for students using the "Check if a website is blocked" link at the top of the Classrooms dashboard in GoGuardian. It will identify blocks based on the filter as well as your teacher created scenes.
Use the Google sign in option
Import classes from Google Classroom - saves time and updates automatically
Use sessions to monitor students during class (Be careful not to run sessions for students in other classes!)
Try turning on "Off-task alerts" to be notified with students are visiting sites determined to not be school-related.
Create Scenes to limit the websites students can visit. Create allowed or blocked scenes and take advantage of the Quick Lists from GoGuardian and our district.
Lock student screens to bring student attention to the teacher
Use a scene to limit tabs and windows students can access during an assessment.
Create a Blocked Websites Scene
Click the "Auto-Open Tabs" link on the right side of the edit scene and paste in the link to the assessment from the Assign window. Add a second website like the school website or my.sduhsd.net.
Set the tab limit for students to 2 tabs.
Click Save.
Start a session in GoGuardian Teacher. When you are ready to start the assessment, select the scene you created in the upper right corner of your GoGuardian session.
Once students have started the assessment, you can edit the scene to reduce the tabs to 1. Saving automatically updates the scene in your active session.
When a website is blocked by a GoGuardian Admin Policy that has Teacher Override enabled, teachers will see an Unblock for class prompt.Â
Clicking the Unblock button prompts a confirmation page, allowing the teacher to confirm that they would like to unblock the content for all students in class.
The website will be unblocked until the end of the current class session.
Note: There are a limited number of sites available for override. If you would like a site added to the filter override option, please enter a tech ticket with the "web filter" category. All submissions via a tech ticket will be first reviewed for district approval.
