Enrollment into SDUHSD Middle Schools is not based on what Elementary school your student is enrolled in, but on where you live. Please check our Boundary Map to confirm your boundary Middle School.
Important Points to remember:
Pre-enroll your student as soon as the Enrollment window opens to ensure you receive communications from the Middle school regarding Course Selection, Principal Q&A, and any Incoming Family Communication. (You will know your student has been pre-enrolled when you receive an email inviting you to create a Parent Portal Account.)
Check your email to see if any documents are missing from your online pre-enrollment. The school will email with a list of any documents or information needed to complete the pre-enrollment and will not be able to complete it until they have been submitted.
Follow directions when filling out the Course Contract. Each student should pick 3 electives and mark choice preferences 1-3 (1 is top choice, 3 is last choice). They will get 1-year long elective.
If an elective requires an application it must be filled out immediately. Those links will be found on our website. Failure to fill out the application will eliminate the elective choice for the student.
If your student is applying for ISPE and will also take a Music Class (Band or Orchestra), they should indicate this on the course contract by checking the correct boxes and selecting the music class as their #1 choice. They will have the option of having a 2nd elective if they fill out the form with all elective choices. An ISPE application must be submitted to the district and approved.

When is the pre-enrollment window?
The pre-enrollment window opens on January 13, 2025 and lasts through February 7, 2025. Failure to submit all required documents will slow down the enrollment process. Please continue to check your email to make sure that you have submitted all required documents. Pre-enrollment will not be completed until all required documents are submitted.
How do I find my boundary school?
Click on the Boundary Map button above and enter your street address.
I live in the SDUHSD school district but want to enroll in a different school than my Boundary school. What do I need to do?
First, complete enrollment in your boundary school before February 7, 2025. Then visit the SDUHSD Intradistrict Transfer page and complete the Intradistrict Transfer request form during the open period. Applications open February 10th, 2025 at 8:00 AM and close February 24th, 2025 at 4:00 PM PST.
My student is coming from a Private school, or outside the district, how do they take the Math Placement Test?
Each Middle School will invite students who are enrolling in San Dieguito from outside of our district to test at the Middle school on specific dates. Someone from the school site will be in contact with you in April for a test date.
When is the Intradistrict Transfer Window?
The Intradistrict Transfer Window is February 10 - February 24, 2025. Please make sure to complete enrollment in your boundary school by February 7, 2025.
When do we select courses for 7th grade?
The Course Selection window will be open from March 11 - March 18. Parents who have completely enrolled their students will be contacted through Parent Portal or email and sent the information required to complete the process in AERIES.
