3. The Writers Workshop-OA student will be able to increase their knowledge of the components and structures of language required to communicate through writing by interpreting, evaluating, analyzing, and comparing written work in various genres, and by applying that information to compose original works.

Question #3: On a scale of 1 to 5, how effective were you in completing a short exercise using the writing techniques identified? (1 not at all to 5 very effective)
Example of task:
In class, a literary work is presented as the basis of the assessment. Students are to identify the literary devices and craft elements present in the work and decide which is most central to its impact or effectiveness. Students are then to complete a short writing exercise/prompt using one of these techniques.
