The hatchery, established in 1924, was originally named the Springdale Electric Hatchery. In 1947, it was acquired by Tyson Foods and subsequently renamed Jeff Brown's Electric Hatchery. The facility specialized in selling baby chicks, which were later repurchased. Adjacent to the hatchery was a feed mill responsible for producing chicken feed. Live chickens were transported to Chicago for processing. The hatchery was reopened in 2017, and it now serves as a site for office operations.
Future home of Tyson Foods, March 2017.
