Assessment Information
This course covers just a section of the continuum of learning. With this understanding in mind, assessments of the various elements of music making are made along the foundation of Bloom’s Taxonomy, in line with Gagne’s levels of learning.
Formative assessment opportunities include but are not limited to:
How a learner plays in rehearsal with the whole group
How a learner plays in sectionals, or section-specific rehearsal moments
How a learner plays in performance assessments or practice check-ins
What a learner says in group discussion
What a learner says in individual discussion
Summative assessment opportunities include but are not limited to:
How a learner performs in formal playing assessments
How a learner reflects on the experience of performing
