What I Do

As a Professional School Counselor (K-12), my role is to facilitate social-emotional, academic, and career development. I work with students individually, in groups, and in the classroom. I collaborate with teachers, para-educators, building staff, and administration to provide a support system for all students.

Here at Elrod, I collaborate with our School-based Mental Health team to identify students in need of additional support. I am a member of the Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 teams to promote student success. I can also be found in every classroom biweekly teaching Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons.

Who I Am

I am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and a PA Certified Professional School Counselor (K-12). In addition, I have a specialty certification in Elementary School Counseling and am a member of the American School Counselor Association (ASCA).

I graduated from Penn State University where I earned my Master's Degree (M.Ed) in Counselor Education in addition to my Bachelor's Degree in Human Services with a minor in Special Education.

I worked as a middle school counselor and elementary school counselor in the Chartiers Valley School District (Pittsburgh, PA) from 2018-2021. Moving to Montana has been my family's goal for quite some time and we are very excited to be here.

I love being a School Counselor! I am grateful for the opportunity to support students as they work through challenges, build resilience, and pursue their goals.
