Dual Enrollment is an opportunity for students to attend classes at their local technical or community college and earn both high school credit and college credit for the same course.
Students are able to do Dual Enrollment during their 11th and 12th grade years. Students become an 11th grader when they have earned 12 credits that include 2 English credits and 2 math credits. Students become a 12th grader when they have earned 18 credits that include 3 English credits and 3 math credits.
If you are interested in Dual Enrollment, contact your counselor to discuss options as well as your local college to see what courses they offer for Dual Enrollment. Your technical college should have a counselor form that needs to be signed. Dual Enrollment courses must be approved by your counselor. This is to ensure you're taking appropriate courses that will count for both high school and college.
This is a great question to discuss with your counselor; however, some courses include:
English 101
English 102 (must be taken after 101)
Math 110
Biology 105
