Jack Petchey Achievement Award winners are young people who have gone above and beyond to achieve. Awards mean different things to different people. The Achievement Awards are not solely for academic achievement – they may be used to recognise a personal triumph for someone who has faced a challenge, a young person who has pushed themselves outside of their comfort zone, or it may be an opportunity to recognise the outstanding efforts of a team player..


Joel V-P Year 11

Despite a life-changing loss of hearing this year, Joel has continued to be optimistic, hardworking and determined to succeed. He has adapted to new ways of learning and continued to push himself. He is on track to achieve Grade 6s and above in all subjects. His resilience and work ethic are amazing.


Sofia F Year 11

Sofia is an exceptional member of the Academy community. Aside from being a diligent and hardworking student, she always makes the time to support other students through academic, pastoral and vocational avenues. Her demeanour around the Academy is consistently positive and her commitment and attitude is infectious. Sofia is always polite and respectful. While she has views and opinions, these are always well thought through and appropriately presented with due consideration given to the intended audience, which has enabled her to be an effective advocate for positive change.


Eva R Year 8

If there is one student who is renowned in the P.E. department, it would be Eva, and all for the right reasons. Eva is a constant ball of energy. Her commitment and love for physical education is evident from the moment you see her smiling face enter the P.E. department. Eva has an infectious positive attitude and will give her all to whatever sport she is doing. She is so dedicated to her sport that she also attends extra-curricular clubs most nights of the week. Eva is a friendly, polite and well-respected student who is supportive of all her peers. She has represented the school in numerous sports events and her perseverance is admirable. You can always depend on Eva and she never lets you down. She is a true superstar.

Nicholas H Year 13

Nicholas completed the astonishing feat of a 68 mile walk from Charlton Athletic Football Club to Abbey Stadium in Cambridge! Nicholas completed the walk to raise awareness and donations for the Alzheimer's Society. Nicolas took on this challenge in memory of his Grandmother, who sadly passed away from Alzheimer's in December 2021. Well done!
