To do this -check out the videos below to learn more about how other animals hide, to get some ideas that could help you in your task. Your hideouts should include a space for your turkey to hide and some way to trick the farmer. You can use any materials you want- paper towel rolls, toothpicks, paints, leaves, pipe-cleaners, construction paper...anything!! But you must follow the specific rules below so please make sure you read those before getting started.

Please review the GENERAL RULES before continuing on to this month's challenge.

What did you build?

I built the falling fox house. Its main purpose is to keep turkeys safe on thanksgiving. I built a house that has a ladder so the turkey can get up. There's also a trap door and a string. The turkey can pull the string but first he needs to wait for a fox to try to get him then the trap door will open and they will fall in the jail and won't be able to get out.

What did you learn?

I learned that there has to be a roof. If there's a shed built on top of it there has to be something under the shed otherwise the shed will fall.

What would you improve next time?

I would improve my camouflage because it didn't look very camouflaged. I would also make some windows on the shed on the roof. I’d also make a door stronger so the animal can't escape.

What did you build and why?

"I built a turkey hideout and an escape for the turkey for Thanksgiving. The turkey goes into the hideout to hide from the farmer but if the farmer finds her, I will pull the string and the turkey hideout will go up in the air so the farmer can’t get her."

What is one thing you learned?

"I learned that a pulley can pull up something."

What is something you will improve next time?

"I would make the pulley bigger!"

What did you build?

"I made a hay hideout for my turkey. The turkey sees a friend at the top of the hideout and gets really excited and runs inside the box. The turkey disguises as a pile of hay and he cannot be found for Thanksgiving feast. The moving part is the box; the box covers the turkey by falling down on the turkey."

What did you learn?

"I learned how to make a disguise for my turkey."

What would you improve next time?

"I would improve by making my disguise look more like hay."
