As the Extended Learning Program Supervisor for TKELP, my primary responsibility is to ensure the successful operation of a safe, engaging, and play-based program for our transitional kindergarten students. I am passionate about fostering creativity and imagination through a variety of activities, including art, crafts, and STEM projects. With over 10 years of experience supporting the district’s after-school programs, I bring a strong background in program coordination and student engagement. While I frequently work from the District Office, I always look forward to visiting our program sites and connecting directly with staff and students.
In our program, we prioritize the development of the whole child, recognizing that each student’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth is interconnected. By creating an environment that supports all areas of development, we help children build the foundation for lifelong learning. Our goal is not only to enhance academic skills but also to foster a sense of curiosity, resilience, and emotional well-being, ensuring each child thrives in a holistic way.

I am a passionate early childhood educator with a degree in Child Development and over 15 years of experience working with young children. I joined the San Carlos School District in August 2025 and currently support a TK classroom during the school day and TKELP in the afternoon.
I am dedicated to nurturing young minds and hearts and enjoy supporting children’s energy, curiosity, and creativity. Each day brings new opportunities for exploration, discovery, and learning.
Outside of school, I enjoy riding my horse, Luna, and spending quality time with my family and friends.
I’m really excited to be part of the TKELP team! I recently earned my Project Management certification through Mission College and Year Up United. I’ve spent the past 10 years working with students in a variety of roles—PE instructor, volleyball coach, camp counselor, babysitter, and now a TKELP aide.
I love staying active and enjoy playing volleyball and basketball with my cousins and friends. I’m looking forward to getting to know the students and families in the TKELP community and helping create a fun, supportive environment for everyone.

I am of Polynesian descent and have always loved growing up with large numbers of kids and taking care of them, whether it was family or friends. My goals are to connect with kids, making them feel safe and comfortable in learning environments.
My name is Mari, and I am excited to be joining the TKELP team at Arundel. I grew up locally and hope to continue teaching in the Bay Area in the future. I am passionate about early childhood education and plan to pursue my teaching credential to teach Kindergarten through 2nd grade.
I attended Sonoma State University, where I majored in Liberal Studies and minored in Early Childhood Studies. I am committed to supporting every student by helping them build strong foundational skills and grow as confident young learners. I look forward to getting to know your children and being part of their learning journey.
At Arundel Elementary, TKELP provides a calm, structured, and engaging after-school environment designed specifically for Transitional Kindergarten students. Each afternoon includes a balance of indoor and outdoor play, creative activities, and opportunities for social connection. Outdoor play takes place on the lower playground, with additional opportunities to share the Preschool playground, allowing students to move, explore, and build gross motor skills in familiar school settings. TK students are supported by trained TKELP staff who prioritize safety, routines, and positive transitions from the TK classroom into the program. Activities are developmentally appropriate and focused on supporting social-emotional growth, independence, and joy at the end of the school day.
