Students have 45 to 60 minutes of outdoor playtime every day during our program. This typically occurs at the start of the day, but some sites may offer additional outdoor time at the end of the day for further exercise.
During this time, staff support students in developing their social skills by teaching them how to problem-solve, take turns, ask for help, and express their emotions in a safe and healthy way.
During this time, TKELP students have the opportunity to unwind and enjoy a moment of calm after a busy school day. Students can choose from quieter activities such as puzzles, drawing, magnet tiles, and more, all while listening to calming music in the background.
In TKELP, we offer a variety of enriching activities for students to engage in during the later part of the day. Teachers set up learning centers that support the development of students’ cognitive, fine motor, creativity, problem-solving, and other essential skills.
Each week, we explore a different theme that inspires our daily curriculum. Through art projects, crafts, and games, we ensure that students are actively engaged and having fun. For a closer look at some of the activities we do at TKELP, please visit our Newsletter page.
During Choice Time, students have the opportunity to explore the entire classroom and further develop their social skills. This time allows students to interact with their peers through play, learning to navigate positive social interactions. Teachers support students in enhancing their social and emotional skills by guiding them to problem-solve, share, practice patience, and more.
JAMaROO is a dance and music class included in your monthly tuition. They visit our TK classrooms once or twice a month for 30-minute sessions. During these sessions, students enjoy dancing and singing with the JAMaROO instructor.

TKELP offers students the opportunity to learn or practice Spanish. The curriculum, developed by the program supervisor and taught by TKELP staff, introduces TK students to basic Spanish concepts, including numbers, colors, animals, and other fundamental vocabulary.
Each year, we expand and enhance our Spanish curriculum, and we look forward to continuing to grow and improve the class in the years to come.
Yes, TKELP provides snacks for the students daily. Each snack consists of a dry item and a fruit or vegetable.
