For participating Districts, Schools, and Local Education Agencies (LEA) not managed by the New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE), the following is the timeline for the 2025 NYC developed World Language Pathway Exams Program:
Indicate intention to administer the World Language Comprehensive Exam (formerly “LOTE”) in Chinese, French, Italian, Korean, and/or Spanish at your district/school by completing, signing, and submitting a PDF copy of our Terms & Conditions Agreement (TCA) via the Registration Form by April 17, 2026.
Note: Materials will be shared via Google Drive, using the email addresses provided during registration. Please be sure registered email addresses are associated with a Google Account prior to completing the registration form. The NYCDOE will contact all districts/schools/LEAs that have indicated interest by May 1, 2026 with instructions for accessing and downloading secure materials.
Administer Part 1 (Speaking) of the exam on or after April 1, 2026. (There have been no changes to the Sourcebook or Teacher Directions since last school year.)
Download Parts 2–4 of the exam on or after June 15, 2026.
Schools/districts are responsible for printing, packing and shipping. NYCDOE is not printing and shipping materials.
Administer Part 1 of the exam by June 17, 2026.
Administer Parts 2–4 of the exam on June 22, 2026 at 9:15 a.m. [NOTE MORNING ADMINISTRATION TIME]
Download scoring guide and answer key on or after June 22, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.
Submit data requirements, if requested, to the New York City Department of Education by August 29, 2026.
