This year, we are proud to announce that we raised over 75 turkeys to support our community during a special event attended by more than 450 students and families from the Tottenville High School community. A dedicated group of student volunteers from CFU, MSK, and MBK worked tirelessly to make this event a success.
During the event, we raffled off 12 turkeys, adding excitement and joy to the festivities. We are also incredibly grateful for the generous donations from several local restaurants that helped us achieve our goal. A big thank you to Ciro's Pizzeria, Fresh Twits, Pronto's Pizza, Applebee's, Freddie's Deli, Giuseppe's Pizzeria, Corrado's, Towne Deli, HoBrah, Patrizia's, and Aunt Bunchies for their support and contributions. Their commitment to our community makes a meaningful difference, and we truly appreciate their involvement.
Council for Unity organized several activities for our upcoming Halloween event, which includes a ticket system for participation in different activities. There is a dedicated ticket for the Jack-o-Lantern Collection, another for the Costume Contest, and one for the Field of Screams. To promote the event, I signed up students to hold posters during lunch periods on Wednesday, October 23rd. In preparation, I collaborated with the CFU team to clean up the STREAM yard today, and I'll be decorating it for the haunted house after school on Wednesday with MSK and MBK. Additionally, I ordered pizza for approximately 60 members of our clubs to celebrate Halloween on the same day. Event staffing has been organized, with students assigned specific roles such as ticket sellers, costume collectors, and those dressed for the haunted house. The Halloween Drive collected 332 costumes and raised 348$.
