As Assistant Principal of Science for the past five years, I have led the charge in improving instructional outcomes through intentional, data-driven professional development. My work is rooted in a deep instructional passion and a commitment to ensuring that the highest level of teaching is happening in every classroom. I have guided the department in using MAP Growth analysis to drive Tier 1–3 instruction, tailoring support for all students, especially those at risk of academic failure. Through the implementation of Mike McDowell’s protocols, I have supported teachers in elevating academic discourse, critical thinking, and rigorous instruction while ensuring alignment with Tottenville High School's mission and vision. In response to New York State's new Regents exams, I’ve provided targeted guidance for Chemistry, Physics, and Biology teachers around NGSS-aligned shifts, while leading the evaluation, purchase, and rollout of Cengage’s Biology curriculum. I’ve offered a range of PD opportunities—including lunch and learns, and CRSE-aligned evaluations—to promote continuous growth and reflection. By analyzing scholarship and performance data, I’ve addressed instructional gaps with targeted interventions and development. My leadership has fostered a culture of collaboration, innovation, and academic excellence throughout the science department.
