On April 14, 2026, the New York Yankees played the Los Angeles Angels in the third game of their four-game series. It was a super close and exciting game, and the Yankees ended up winning 5–4 on a walk-off.
The Yankees got off to a great start in the first inning when Aaron Judge hit a 382-foot home run to right field to make it 1–0. Then in the second inning, Trent Grisham hit a single, and José Caballero and Jazz Chisholm Jr. both scored to make it 3–0.
The Angels started to come back in the third inning when Adam Frazier hit a 398-foot home run to make it 3–1. Later in the fifth inning, Logan O’Hoppe hit a really long home run (427 feet) to make it 3–2. Then, with a runner on base, Mike Trout hit a two-run home run to give the Angels the lead, 4–3.
In the bottom of the ninth inning, it looked like the Yankees might lose, but they didn’t give up. Jazz Chisholm Jr. was on second base and Austin Wells was on first. Then José Caballero hit the ball deep into center field, and it dropped in for a double. Both runners scored, and the Yankees won the game 5–4 in an awesome walk-off.
It was their second walk-off win of the series and a really exciting game.

The NBA Trade Deadline Aftermath
by Benjamin Gamberg
Recently in the NBA, the trade deadline passed. This is the last time teams can make trades to acquire new players until next year. Every year, we see blockbuster moves and all kinds of trades around this time. I’m now going to break down what happened this year.
Early Plays
The first big move of the year was between the Atlanta Hawks and the Washington Wizards. The trade mainly revolved around Trae Young, a player who was a star in 2023. Young wanted to be traded, and the Wizards were his preferred destination. The Wizards gave up CJ McCollum and Corey Kispert. Another move that happened in January was Dennis Schroder and Keon Ellis going to the Cavaliers in exchange for Deandre Hunter. This was a smaller move, but it happened very early on.
Final Moments
After that, things slowed down for a while. Then everything picked up again. On February 3, 2026—two days before the deadline—three major trades happened. Jaren Jackson Jr. went to the Utah Jazz because the Memphis Grizzlies were trying to improve their draft position for the upcoming draft. Then a shocker happened: James Harden wanted out of the LA Clippers. He is known for leaving teams when things go wrong. He was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers, a solid Eastern Conference team looking for their missing piece, in exchange for Darius Garland. The next day only had one deal, but it was a big one. Anthony Davis, a center for the Dallas Mavericks, was traded to the Wizards in exchange for Khris Middleton and other players.
Bench Player Moves
While many big trades happened, there were also smaller deals for salary reasons and bench depth. One of those deals was Nikola Vucevic to the Celtics in exchange for Anfernee Simons, giving both teams useful bench players. The Charlotte Hornets made multiple deals involving players like Coby White and Mike Conley (the Hornets later released Conley for financial reasons). Another move included Kristaps Porzingis going to the Golden State Warriors in exchange for Jonathan Kuminga, who had been a recurring issue for the Warriors’ staff and players. There were also many other players involved in trades, including Jose Alvarado, Ivica Zubac, Luke Kennard, and Ayo Dosunmu.
Disappointment and Debrief
Then the big day came: the trade deadline. Everyone expected Giannis Antetokounmpo to be traded. But as the deadline got closer, nothing happened. When the clock struck 3 p.m., there were no more deals. Many teams tried to make offers, but none were convincing enough for Milwaukee. Some of these teams included the Heat, Knicks, Timberwolves, Warriors, and Rockets. Giannis stayed and may enter free agency soon. Disappointment spread across the media because he wasn’t traded.
After everything, there were still some major winners. Cleveland got a veteran point guard, Charlotte added many new players, and teams like the Pacers and Knicks improved their bench for the upcoming playoffs.
