Famous Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
by Ben Morse
Save yourself a trip to the mall and make these iconic chocolate chip cookies at home! This recipe makes 2 dozen cookies and takes only 30 minutes!
Ingredients
All-purpose flour----------------------- 2 ½ cups
Baking soda ---------------------------- 1 teaspoon
Kosher salt ---------------------------- ¾ teaspoon
Butter ------------------------------------ 1 cup (2 sticks), cold, cut into cubes
Brown sugar---------------------------- 1 cup, packed
Granulated sugar----------------------- ½ cup
Large eggs ------------------------------- 2
Pure vanilla extract --------------------- 2 teaspoons
Semisweet chocolate chips ---------- 2 cups
Steps:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line two large baking sheets with parchment paper. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
In a large bowl using a hand mixer or in the bowl of a stand mixer, cream together butter and sugars until the mixture resembles coarse sand. Add eggs and vanilla and beat until combined. Add dry ingredients and mix until just combined, then fold in chocolate chips with a spatula.
Using a medium cookie scoop, form dough into balls and place on baking sheets. Bake until golden, 13 to 15 minutes.
Take it out of the oven and let it cool for about 5-6 minutes. Once that time is up, you will be able to enjoy these delicious, homemade cookies! Enjoy!
