Forget the Rest, Eat the Best: Stop by the 2nd Ave Deli

If you want great kosher deli food, skip the overcrowded, overrated spots and head to the 2nd Avenue Deli. It offers excellent food, friendly service, and generous portions.
When you arrive, you’re quickly seated and given menus, water with lemon, pickles, and a small “health salad” similar to coleslaw. The pickles come in different varieties, including sour and spicy.
The menu is large, but a few items stand out. The matzo ball soup is a must-try, featuring fluffy matzo balls in rich broth. The famous pastrami sandwich is another highlight, made with perfectly seasoned brisket.
Here’s a tip to enhance your visit: while you wait, you can ask the counterperson for a sample. Ordering a small item like rugelach and leaving a tip increases your chances of getting one.
Whether you visit the 33rd Street location or the Upper East Side outpost, 2nd Avenue Deli continues to live up to its reputation in 2026 and remains one of my favorite places to eat. 🥪🥣🔥

Tex's Chicken & Burgers: Great Food for Everyone

Tex’s Chicken and Burgers is a fast-food restaurant that serves chicken burgers, french fries, and other popular items. It was founded in 2016, so it is still fairly new compared to other fast-food restaurants. Although it is not very well known, the food is excellent. Their chicken burgers and french fries are some of the best.
You don’t have to go all the way to Texas to find Tex’s—there are many locations right here in New York City! Depending on the location, some restaurants let customers pour their own soda, while others serve it to you. Another great thing about Tex’s Chicken and Burgers is that it is certified halal, making it a great option for everyone!
Overall, Tex’s Chicken and Burgers is a great fast-food restaurant that I recommend.
