Senior year, the year that everyone is excited for. Freshmen enter high school, wishing that the 4 years roll by in a blink of the eye so they can be a senior. Juniors anticipate for the last day of school so they can finally consider themselves as the “big dogs” of the school. But the real question is, is senior year really worth the hype?
PROS:
The most obvious one, special privileges! It’s your last year in highschool, you have so much more freedom than a freshman or a sophomore. You have most of your credits by now, so you technically don’t have to worry about staying for the rest of the day for all your core classes. Plus, a special senior center just for you and your friend to hang out in during your off-time?
Sounds like a win for me!
Less work & assignments. Since you’re a senior, you have almost all of your credits by now, meaning you no longer have to worry about packing multiple AP and Honor classes into your schedule, you can take the easy classes. Easy classes means less work for you to complete, which means you have so much more free time to do whatever you want!
Smooth transition into special senior activities. Senior sunrise, prom, graduation, end of year senior trip, the list could go on for days. You have special privileges, and these senior ONLY activities are a part of that. No juniors, no sophomores, just other seniors! Plus, since by now you’re taking easy classes, you can hang around at these events for as long as you want.
Why? You don’t need to worry about turning in an assignment before 11:59.
CONS:
Did no one mention how expensive senior year truly is? Senior trip tickets, prom tickets, graduation tickets, graduation outfits, senior pictures. The amount of money you spend rises up quickly, and you don’t even realize it. Not to mention all of the hidden fees you’ll end up paying whether you want to pay for them or not. This is a new one, but you really can’t capture your senior year now with these Yondr pouches. Sure, you can just buy a digital camera and record from there, but digital cameras are quite expensive in this economy. Sure, you can just take pictures before and after school, but you spend so much more time with your friends during school.
