Lego fans
The game is on!
What's new in the lego club? What can you do in the lego club?
Are there actual lego’s in the lego club?
Well enthusiasts, it's well known in the lego club, to be current battles and competitions that is putting many members on their toes!
Too much? Well, the lego club wants to start off with saying,
“Welcome.”
You may build with the provided legos, watch ongoing battles or catch up with work and decide when the building begins!
It’s a destressing zone.
Ashley Lucero, Damaris Guayllazaca and Angie Flores,
creators of the club were able to bring this safety zone to the students of HSES
with the help and collaboration of our
HSES Math teachers: Mr. Jones and Ms. Blessing!
Mr. Jones response:
“The aim was to create a place to relax and for kids to build, which is what I like to see. Building is just a relaxing activity to do which I enjoy. It builds them skills like communication, teamwork, which are all essential skills they’ll need in the real world.”
Ashley Lucero’s responses:
Ashley, What motivated you to build this club? “I really enjoyed playing with legos growing up and I wanted to make sure others could enjoy that as well.”
Sweet! What’s the purpose you had for this club? “For students to get their minds off school work and have fun bulging things with friends!”
What do you enjoy about the lego club? “I enjoy seeing people join the club and are involved in the club because it shows me that others like legos and they get to get their minds off work!”
Damaris responses:
I was inspired to start this club because I wanted to create a space where people could come together to share their ideas, unleash their creativity, and work on hands-on projects that are both fun and rewarding. Legos have always been a tool for turning imagination into reality, and I thought it would be exciting to build a community where everyone could collaborate and, most importantly, have the chance to build their own Lego sets based on what interests them.
However, the idea for the LEGO Club wasn’t mine alone. Mr. Jones played a key role in making this club a reality. In fact, he was the first person to bring up the idea of starting a Lego-focused club, recognizing how it could bring people together while fostering creativity and problem-solving skills. His enthusiasm for Legos and teamwork inspired me to work with him to bring this idea to life, and I’m so grateful for his support and vision.
When were you first introduced to lego? “When I was a child,
I immediately fell in love with the endless possibilities they offered.
Whether it was building a castle, a spaceship, or something entirely unique,
I enjoyed how Legos allowed me to bring my imagination to life piece by piece. That feeling of accomplishment and joy is something I’ve carried with me over the years,
and it’s what motivated me
to create a space where others could experience the same.” To connect to our inner kid.
