Art making definitely made the quarantine time more interesting. I do beach clean ups in my spare time, and I can say that during quarantine the situation got much worse. When everything freezes, and everything around is quiet, we begin to hear the breath of the Earth. We hear the labored breathing, the hard one. We have to stop trashing our planet. Period. That’s my message. I represented my idea by making a wearable mask of the Earth littered to the point where trash is overflowing and circling the planet like a ring.
We would like to express our condolences to Stephen T. Mather High Building Arts & Craftsmanship High School community on the recent loss of their principal, Larry Gabbard. He had a lovely, upbeat spirit and was a true supporter of his students' artistic visions and talents. He will be deeply missed.
