Everyone's favorite event returns this MAY for another year of extraordinary student LEGO® builds!
It will take place at the New York Hall of Science in Queen's Flushing Meadows-Corona Park.
Get all of the information you need about this years theme and challenges by visiting FIRST® LEGO® League's website:
https://www.firstinspires.org/programs/fll/
This year, FIRST® LEGO® League teams will learn about what people of the past have left behind and what we can learn as those items are UNEARTHED™.
Get ready for an archaeological adventure! This season, the team will become junior archaeologists. As a group, you will explore excavation sites, build and study cool artifacts, and solve mysteries about the past.
Use Lego Robotics to build different types of machines that could help archaeologists explore the earth.
Learn what about the process and the type of tools archaeologists use to dig in the earth and find artifacts.
Teach students about what type of artifacts archaeologists discover in the earth. It could be anything from dinosaur bones, old civilizations, tools, or art.
Does the school supply all of the Legos? Depending on the size of the class the District will supply with at least 1 Lego First Box (The Theme box for the event) and 1 Lego Spike Prime/Essentials Lego Robotics Kit
Are there examples of the expo? There are videos at www.d75stem.com and images from the event last year
Is there an age or grade minimum to participate? Any District 75 classroom
Can anyone sign up for this? Specific to District 75 but space is limited so discuss with admin if you are interested in case there are other classes from your organization already participating

Are there requirements for dimensions and does it have to be made completely from Legos? You need to use the Lego robotics kit and the theme box in your final project, but you may add other elements (Clay, paper, velcro, etc)
When is the project due and the expo going to be open? The Expo is May 20th, there are two PDs that you should sign up (Above) for if you are interested in the event where you will receive all of your supplies and support
Are these Legos a fully digital design submission or physical projects? Physical Projects with Block coding robotics
How do we get the project to the museum? One staff member from the school will arrive early to NYSci (8AM) and another teacher will chaperone the students on the bus for 10AM Arrival (put in bussing requests as soon as possible)
