Our new project question is - How can we keep our bodies happy and healthy?
Today you will be learning about your own body and all the different parts. Take a look at our slides to help guide you through your learning.
CHALLENGE:
Can you draw and label the parts on your own body? Watch Ms Gourley's video to see how!
Can you make a body out of objects in your home? Maybe you could make a pasta skeleton.
Here are our favourite games to help you with this topic:
Today we are going to introduce different ways that we can keep our bodies happy and healthy. Take a look at our slides to help guide you through your learning.

Today we will continue learning about healthy vs. unhealthy foods. Ms. Gourley will even show us how to follow a recipe!
WEEKEND CHALLENGE:
Over the weekend, what can you make out of healthy food? Can you make a picture? Can you help make your own healthy recipe?
Good foods song:
Today Ms. Gourley will read the story Carrot Club. This humorous story is a great reminder not to judge others by their appearances and will encourage children to think positively about a range of vegetables.
Today we are going to learn a little about where the different vegetables from Carrot Club grow and where they come from before you buy them.
Today we are going to play a game where you are given clues about how and where a vegetable grows, and you have to guess which vegetable it is. Then, in the video, Ms. Gourley will show you how you can have a go at labelling some fruit or vegetables you may have at home.
Today we are going to look at art from the artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo and his famous fruit and vegetable faces. See if you can find the different fruits and and vegetables in the paintings.
Today we will hear a child-appropriate story about the coronavirus (COVID-19), then go over some different emotions. This will help us better describe how we are feeling. Later in the week, we will learn about different activities we can do to help ourselves and others feel better and more positive.
*All activities this week are completely optional. The videos and activities are meant to help you and your families discuss what is going on in the world in a child-appropriate way.

Today we are going to continue thinking about how we feel. Have another look at the emotions in the "How are we feeling?" powerpoint from yesterday and ask yourselves or your adult "How are you feeling being at home a lot?"
Your teachers asked each other how they are feeling and you can watch their videos today. It's ok to feel some of these emotions. Tomorrow we will be talking about what we can do with those feelings.

Today we are going to continue thinking about how we manage our feelings. It is really important that your child can start to self calm and find ways to manage their own feelings without another person. We hope you have found these resources useful and can continue to use them to have healthy discussions :)
