Hi everyone!

My name is Ms. Rideout and I am so looking forward to meeting each and every one of you! I am so excited for this upcoming year where we will be able to learn and grow together. I have been with the Simcoe County School Board for 7 years now. I have been an Early Childhood Educator at Allandale Heights for 4 years now. I truly love coming to work every day and being surrounded by such a beautiful group of staff and children. I find my career very rewarding each and everyday! When I am not at school, I enjoy spending my time with my fiance and our 7 month old Cockapoo, Penelope! She keeps us very active! I am very excited to start new adventures with all of you!

Hi future knights!

My name is Mrs. Pigott and I am lucky enough to be a Kindergarten teacher at our school. I am blessed to work in partnership with a wonderful team to bring fun and exciting programming to our students. Being a Kindergarten Teacher is a very rewarding job as I learn alongside you while we create, play and explore kindergarten together! I have been privileged to teach at Allandale in the Kindergarten program since January 2006. I love watching my students grow into amazing Knights who are proud members of our school community and I love meeting new friends! Did you know that we go outside for outdoor learning evey day? We love heading to areas in our community to explore, learn and play. When I am not at school, I have four children and two dogs. My eldest child has just graduated University and is embarking on a new journey. I have another one entering second year University and my two little ones are in Primary school. I am looking forward to meeting you and your family! See you in September!

Hello everyone! I’m Mrs. Molenaar, a Kindergarten educator and part of an amazing team! I’m certified as a Forest School Educator and in Self-Reg, but I’m mostly very excited to meet all of you! I love to discover and share about many things and can’t wait for you to teach me new things too! My favourite place to learn is in the forest, my favourite colour is green and I love to read stories! We go for walks often and also go on adventures in the forest many times a week. It’s our outside classroom! Our Kindergarten Program has 4 frames and each one is almost as important as the next. Working on self-regulation is vital, because if we can regulate we are ready to learn! Our learning is done through play, adventure, discovery and connection. Play is the pillar of learning for young children and is pivotal to understanding basic and complex concepts and innovative practices, as well as building relationships with self, others and the environment. Through the lens of listening and observing we help to scaffold children on to their next stage of developed learning. I’m looking forward to building reciprocal relationships with families and the children in my class! Ruby and I would like to extend a most warm welcome to Kindergarten at Allandale Heights Public School. I can’t wait for September!

Hi, my name is Mrs. O’Keefe and I have been a teacher with the SCDSB for the past 17 years. I have taught many grades with the majority in primary, including kindergarten and planning time.

I have two grown boys and two small dogs to keep me entertained. I am excited to be joining the Allandale Heights P.S. community and look forward to being part of the kindergarten team. See you in September!

Welcome to our classroom family!

Our learning program is student-centered and uses self-directed, experiential learning in a relationship-driven environment. Our program is based on the principles of respect, responsibility and community through exploration, discovery and play. I‘m so grateful each day I can join in the learning journey with these incredible, capable little people! I have been teaching kindergarten for 9 years, the last 7 as part of the Allandale family. When I’m not at school, I’m having adventures with my family, enjoying the outdoors, baking, gardening and watching my daughter play basketball! We can't wait to start having adventures with you in September and begin a new learning journey together!

Welcome to our classroom family!

We learn together in our classroom through inquiry and exploration. We also spend a large portion of our day outside, exploring and learning through nature and the environment all around us! I have been blessed to have spent over the last decade in this Allandale community. This will be my 22nd year of teaching and my 5th year in kindergarten. I truly love kindergarten! I look forward to coming to work every day to explore and wonder with these amazing littles. When not at work, my 2 teenaged boys and my Otis keep me active. Looking forward to meeting all of you and starting a new learning journey in the fall!

Ms. Moore

Hello Future Knight Families,

My name is Angelia Simmonds, I am the primary Special Education Resource Teacher (SERT) at Allandale Heights. I have worked for SCDSB for 17 years and been an Allandale Knight for the last 5 years. I collaborate with families and Allandale staff to support students in kindergarten to grade 3 with their programming needs. I also work with community partners to access resources to support the development and well-being of our students and families. Being a SERT is a rewarding job that allows me to see students learn and grow throughout their school years.

When I’m not at school my husband and two children, Trent and Reid, keep me busy with sport activities and travelling. When I get the chance, I enjoy reading, gardening and watching movies. I am looking forward to meeting you and your family! See you in September!
