Dear students,

Hope you had a great weekend! Remember everyday to check my website (and Mrs. Bollinger's) and your email! From there, you will go to Google Classroom, Go Math, watch videos, etc. Thanks for being such great students.

Remember Zoom help sessions on Wednesdays for 5-1 girls at 1:00 and 5-1 boys at 2:00. Thursdays will be my help sessions for 5-2 girls at 1:00 and 5-2 boys at 2:00. If you are struggling with anything for that day or week, you may join in on the session. Help sessions will always be on Wednesdays and Thursdays unless I state differently in my plans for that day. Remember, you don't come to help sessions to mess around. You come to get help if needed.

Don't forget to be reading so you reach your AR goal. It is due on May 12th. I did notice that a few of you have reached your goal already! Good work! Your religion service is also coming up! It is due on May 13th! Please don't forget this. (Also, since you are all at home, if you have to do it with your immediate family, that is OK. I understand!)

Now go to Go math and do lesson 10.4 with the green lizard that talks first (This is in the "My Library "section - click on interactive student edition G5 and go over lesson 10.4) , and then do the homework assigned L. 10.4 (This is in your "things to do" section.) YOU MUST GO OVER THE LESSON FIRST TO UNDERSTAND IT, AND THIS IS IN THE LIBRARY! THEN DO THE ASSIGNMENT! (Don't forget, you should have memorized all the US Customary information from last week. Tomorrow we will begin the Metric System.)

Reading - So today I want to start another one of my favorite novels of all time. Where the Red Fern Grows.....You will love it!!!!! So our reading class is going to be a little different until we finish this novel. Please follow along with the reader of the novel. You will notice pictures alongside to help you visualize what is happening for the first few chapters of this book. The novel begins with a grown man that has a flashback and tells the story of himself when he was younger. I can't wait for you to start reading, listening, and enjoying this novel. The chapters are longer, so don't get behind with this....ENJOY IT! Today all you will do is read/listen/follow along with Read ch. 1 .

Spelling - Study list 28 spelling words....hop on over to google classroom and click on spelling, list 28 words....once you open up the doc, type each word 2x each and then submit to me.

Language Arts - Today's lesson is about double negatives. Maybe some of you remember back in school being told you shouldn't use a double negative. Watch this video to help you understand more about them. Double Negative Video

Religion - ch. 17 reviewed (vocations)....Do page 146 in your book and send me a picture of it.

Math - Today you will learn to convert using the Metric System. Last week you did the US Customary System and had to memorize many. Once you learn the trick for the Metric System it is easier then what we use in the United States(US Customary) because it is all based on powers of 10. You need to learn this saying for Metric conversion: "King Henry Died By Drinking Chocolate Milk". Watch this video completely and then watch this one, too. Tomorrow you will use this trick to do the lesson.

Reading - Today you will Read ch. 2 of Where the Red Fern Grows. Now practice "Red Fern Grows Voc1" deck at the Boom Task Card site. Once you click on the site, click on your name, and then put in your password I emailed you. Once you are in, scroll to the bottom and click on the deck called "Voc1" to practice the vocabulary. Have fun!!!!! (Remember, I see all the results, so do your best! Happy learning new vocabulary.) I emailed you the list of vocabulary words for you to look up and study.

Spelling - Study list 28 spelling words today by tossing a ball back and forth with someone. You each say a letter of the word and then pass the ball until the word is complete. Happy spelling! List 28
