Dear students,

Hope you had a great weekend! Remember to check my website and your email everyday! From there, you will go to Google Classroom, Go Math, watch videos, etc. Thanks for being such great students.

Zoom will be different from here on out. I will be doing help sessions on Wednesdays for 5-1 girls at 1:00 and 5-1 boys at 2:00. Thursdays will be my help sessions for 5-2 girls at 1:00 and 5-2 boys at 2:00. If you are struggling with anything for that day or week, you may join in on the session. Help sessions will always be on Wednesdays and Thursdays unless I state differently in my plans for that day. Remember, you don't come to help sessions to mess around. You come to get help if needed.

Don't forget to be reading so you reach your AR goal. It is due on May 12th. I did notice that a few of you have reached your goal already! Good work! Your religion service is also coming up! It is due on May 13th! Please don't forget this. (Also, since you are all at home, if you have to do it with your immediate family, that is OK. I understand!)

Religion - We will begin Chapter 15 this week...all about the sacrament of Anointing of the Sick. Today read pages 123-126. Be sure to answer any questions along the way in your book. No need to send my anything today.

Math - Today you will do lesson 10.1 over comparing and converting customary units of length. You need to memorize if you don't know already:

1 ft= 12 in

1 yd = 3 ft

1 mile = 5,280 ft

1 mile = 1760 yd

Now go to Go math and do lesson 10.1 with the green lizard that talks first (This is in the "My Library "section - click on interactive student edition G5 and go over lesson 10.1) , and then do the homework assigned L. 10.1 (This is in your "things to do" section.) YOU MUST GO OVER THE LESSON FIRST TO UNDERSTAND IT, AND THIS IS IN THE LIBRARY! THEN DO THE ASSIGNMENT! (Don't forget to memorize the lengths given above....for a quiz Thurs.!)

Reading - Today we will finish the novel, Hatchet. Follow along and listen to Ch. 19 and Epilogue. When you finish, take the AR quiz for Hatchet. This can count toward your AR goal this quarter. (Make sure you add it to your AR goal sheet paper and have your parents /grandparents sign it). Now hop on over to google classroom for today's assignment..... I can't wait to hear what you have to say

Spelling - Study list 27 spelling words....hop on over to google classroom and click on spelling, list 27 words....once you open up the doc, type each word 2x each and then submit to me.

Once you are here, click library for the books or click News for the articles. Today I would like you to click News for the articles and read them. Just have fun checking out the site today. Reading - (Unit 6 Week 2) First familiarize yourself with this week's vocabulary. Go to the Wonders site. You can access your RWW book here. Once you are on, click resources, then click Read/Writing Workshop, then go to pg 394-395 to see the vocabulary. Then read "The Bully" pgs 396-399. (You can read yourself or have the computer play it and you follow it). Now go to google classroom and do the assignment today: "Unit 6 Week 2 vocabulary." Be sure to hit the "turn in" button.

Spelling - Study list 27 spelling words today by tossing a ball back and forth with someone. You each say a letter of the word and then pass the ball until the word is complete. Happy spelling! List 27

Language Arts - Today you will do Exact Path for 20-30 minutes. Remember I can track how long you are doing this. This is a grade, so please do your best! Set your timer as you challenge yourself today!

I'll ask you about the story tomorrow so be sure you read it!

Language Arts - Today you will go to this site again and read the News...go here....myOn Digital Library.... (Remember: username and password are in Google Classroom under "Digital Library".) Click on "News" at the top and then click on "All Articles" (It is below "News" and to the right.) Now read "Earth Day: 50 years strong". Earth Day is celebrated today, April 22nd. Be sure you click on the blue unknown words so you can learn their definitions. Now go to Google Classroom and do the "Earth Day Assignment".

Religion - The two sacraments of healing are reconciliation and anointing of the sick. Reconciliation allows for spiritual healing and absolution for people who have distanced themselves from God through sin. Anointing of the sick allows for spiritual healing and sometimes physical healing. Let's review again with these 2 videos of the healing sacraments.
