reproductive isolation

Reproductive isolation is when two populations can no longer breed with each other and produce fertile offspring.

This prevents gene flow between populations, causing them to evolve separately, and eventually become distinct species.

 There are three ways this can happen:

• geographic isolation

• behavioral isolation

• temporal isolation
