Computer Science 1 & 2

"Computer Science is not coding.  It is social media. It’s self driving cars. It’s a trip to the Moon and a fitness tracker.  Computer science is the music and healthcare industries.  It’s a paralegal and a fashion designer.  It’s a mechanic and a professional athletic trainer.  It is the backdrop of the entire landscape of our modern society.  Computer science is ubiquitous.  It is universal.  It is subtle and it is powerful.  Just as the most remote regions on this planet are penetrated by human language so to are they now penetrated by computer science.  Just as our students must be fluent in English and basic math concepts to be functional in our society, they must also have a foundation and basic understanding of computational thinking and computer science concepts.  As a national leader, the state of Georgia is intent on promoting computer science at every level of development, K-12."
