This workshop will share inforamtion and describe CDE efforts regarding the implementation of Proposition 58 also known as the Education for a Global Economy Initiative. Guidance from the California Department of Education will be provided for schools and districts to expand the opportunities for all students to learn a world language. Participants will receive an update on the changes in the law that open opportunities for parents, families and the community to support and guide schools and districts on program model selection, pathways and current resources to support the implementation of this new legislation. Time permitting, presenters will also help participants identify ways to leverage their state and federal funds to accomplish their goals.
