What is the Points System?
Initiated in 2019, the Points System evaluates our members' involvement in the section beyond just playing. Although Covid disrupted its rollout, we reinstated it with gusto in 2022. The system serves multiple purposes:
Highlight the value our Sports Members and JSMs contribute.
Define membership renewal criteria.
Motivate all members to actively participate in the section's affairs.
The aim is to validate and maintain our current membership benefits, especially when certain members believe there's a need for stricter guidelines.
Who Benefits?
Sports members are expected to achieve a minimum of 10 points annually for renewal, while JSMs should secure 20 points yearly (with adjustments for mid-year entrants). Those attending the Academy, serving the National Service, studying abroad, or part of the Women’s Squad are granted benefits to ease their journey.
Renewal Points Requirement:
Sports Members: 10 Points
JSMs (excluding SCC Junior Program enrollees): 20 Points
JSMs (enrolled in the SCC Junior Program): 20 Points, but a 10 point advantage is given.
Overseas SM/JSM or National Servicemen: 20 Points, but with a 10 point boost.
Ordinary, Term & Corporate Members: No points required.
Failure to meet these points means non-renewal of membership the subsequent year.
Earning Points
Members can gain points through varied avenues, primarily by actively participating in section activities beyond regular matchplay. A comprehensive list below details point-earning activities, including any penalties. While not exhaustive, the Committee can grant points on a case-by-case basis. We welcome suggestions for point-worthy endeavours that would enrich the section. Additionally, if you’re passionate about a specific domain or just wish to help, reach out!
