Important Usage Notes:
Do Not Reset Mid-Match: Do not turn the knurled knob clockwise or press the 'New' button during a match, as this action will reset all scores to zero.
Audible Confirmation: An audible sound will confirm each correct button press to ensure accuracy.
Interference Warning: Be aware that mobile phones and Bluetooth speakers can cause delays. If lag occurs, temporarily adjust by adding an extra number, then use the +/- toggle to correct it before the next input.
Controller Display: The controller screen will always display the correct score
Controller Location: The controller is operational from anywhere on the cricket field, allowing use by players, scorers, or umpires. The 'BALLS' button can also function as a ball counter.
Post-Match Protocol:
After the match, return the controller to the white scorebook bag or hand it over to the next team's captain if another SCC match is scheduled.
CONTROLLER OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Turn On/Off:
On: Rotate the knurled knob clockwise to power on.
Off: Turn the knob counter-clockwise until you hear a soft click.
Starting a New Game:
Press the "NEW" button to reset the scoreboard for a new game, setting all counts to zero.
New Innings:
To start a new innings, press the NEW INNINGS button. This will also calculate the chasing total automatically i.e if you press the "New Innings" button at the end of the first innings, the chasing total will update automatically.
Adjusting Scores:
To Add Runs: Press +1, +4, or +6 next to the batter's score.
To Subtract Runs: Press +/-, then the run button (+1, +4, +6), and +/- again to reset.
Handling Extras:
To Add: Press the "TOTAL / EXTRAS" button.
To Subtract: Hit +/-, then "TOTAL / EXTRAS", and +/- again.
+/-:
Pressing this button followed by another button will decrease the digits in a negative direction.
Pressing this button a second time followed by another button will increase the digits in a positive direction.
Manage Balls:
To increase the balls total by 1 press the BALLS button.
Note - Balls bowled only shows on controller. (Handy if an umpire wants to use the controller for tracking deliveries).
To decrease the balls total by 1 press the +/- button followed by the BALLS button. Then press then +/- to reset the next button press to a positive number.
Note if you are not worried about counting the balls, you can skip the use of this button.
Overs:
To increase the overs total by 1 press the OVERS button.
Note - Only the overs total will be displayed on the scoreboard, not number balls bowled.
To decrease the overs total by 1 press the +/- button followed by the OVERS button. Then press then +/- to reset the next button press to a positive number.
New Batter:
Pressing NEW BATTER 1 or NEW BATTER 2 will reset that Batters score to zero.
Note this will not increment the WICKETS by 1 digit.
Wickets:
To increase the wickets by 1 press the WICKETS button.
To decrease the wickets by 1 press the +/- button followed by the WICKETS button. Then press then +/- to reset the next button press to a positive number.
Chasing:
To increase the chasing total by 1 press the CHASING button (also the bowling team’s total).
To decrease the chasing total by 1 press the +/- button followed by the CHASING button. Then press then +/- to reset the next button press to a positive number.
Adjusting the Digit Brightness:
To change the brightness of the LEDs on the scoreboard, press the BRIGHTNESS button. This will toggle the brightness through a total of 4 levels. Once the brightness has reached the lowest setting, it will start again from maximum brightness.
