About Coach Guy
Cricket has been at the heart of Coach Guy’s life since age five. Raised in South Africa, he played competitive cricket throughout his youth and into his early adult years, developing as a batter, bowler and field leader. From 19 to 25 he competed semi-professionally, sharpening his skills while playing at a high level.
Playing Career
Between 2015 and 2018, Coach Guy was contracted as an overseas professional in Scotland. He played across multiple formats and took on coaching responsibilities, immersing himself in different cricketing cultures, adapting to new conditions and strengthening both his technical game and tactical understanding at an international level.
Coaching Career
Coach Guy’s coaching journey began in South Africa, where from ages 20–29 he coached at his club and in local schools. Guiding young players and helping them unlock their potential gave him the same thrill as playing. In Scotland, his role expanded as a professional player-coach, working closely with juniors, seniors and club administrators to build programs that lifted skills and grew the community around the sport.
Vision & Philosophy
Cricket has given Coach Guy opportunities, friendships and life lessons across three continents. His goal is to give that back: inspire juniors, strengthen school and club programs, and create clear pathways in Singapore so players can progress from grassroots to elite levels. Whether teaching a young player how to hold a bat for the first time or preparing a team for high-level competition, his focus is on passion, discipline and enjoyment of the game.
