Backing Up Your iPad

While much of your work is actually Web-based, with content stored online, some data is stored locally and should be configured for regular automatic backup to iCloud. Review the attached directions if you have questions about this process. Students should confirm that they have all important work backed up before turning their iPad in for repair or at the end of the school year. Students should not delete an app without confirming that all locally-saved content (for example, Notability notes) is backed up.

Locally-Saved Content (Requiring Backup)

While backing up to iCloud allows the simplest way to transfer content between devices, including to a replacement iPad, most apps can also be backed up to Google Drive.

Most other apps with locally-saved content (iMovie, Comic Life, Keynote, Pages, Numbers, Garage Band...) should save to iCloud. Some apps may require an in-app choice about saving to iCloud.

In addition, most apps with locally-saved content (iMovie, Comic Life, Keynote, Pages, Numbers, Garage Band...) provide a way to save to Google Drive.
